'Still a Kid' is a song written about the yearning for youth. Growing up, and giving up on the things that used to mean everything to you, is a difficult thing to do. I believe that everyone can feel as though they are separated from the people around them. The fear of growing up is magnified when you’re scared that everybody has it worked out and is ready, everyone but you.
This song is part of my second album which will be released within 2020.
lyrics
I remember, when I was younger,
Said I'd never let go of a lover,
You do anything to make one stay.
I remember, black and white movies,
It was gospel, everything they told me,
You've gotta chase her to the last plane.
Time moves and it's not so easy,
I watch my friends change around me,
They're growing up, growing up, growing up,
And I'm stuck in a dream
We cope using anything,Still a kid
saying what will be, just it be
guess they're growing up, growing up, growing,
And I'm just stuck like this,
I'm still a kid
I'm still a kid
Funny how time makes us cynical,
easier to forget it all,
regret it all,
I won't fall,
I don't need it all.
They say magic's just for kids,
I'm not allowed to indulge in it,
explain this feeling,
I get, touching him
Time moves and it's not so easy,
I watch my friends change around me,
They're growing up, growing up, growing up,
And I'm stuck in a dream
We cope using anything,
saying what will be, just it be
guess they're growing up, growing up, growing,
And I'm just stuck like this,
I'm still a kid
I'm still a kid
I'm still a kid but I just don't know,
Where the love happened to go,
I wanna write someone a love note,
It seems like a waste of time though,
I'm still a kid but I just don't know,
If I'm ready to grow,
I have no one to give my love note,
I guess. I let go.
I'm still a kid,
I'm still a kid,
I wanna be a kid,
Can I be a kid?
let me be a kid...
Time moves and it's not so easy,
I watch my friends change around me,
They're growing up, growing up, growing up,
And I'm stuck in a dream
We cope using anything,
saying what will be, just it be
guess they're growing up, growing up, growing,
And I'm just stuck like this,
I'm still a kid
I'm stuck like this, this, this, I'm stuck like, I'm stuck like
I'm stuck like this, this, this, I'm stuck like, I'm stuck like
I'm still a kid
I'm still a kid but I just don't know,
Where the love happened to go,
I wanna write someone a love note,
It seems like a waste of time though,
I'm still a kid but I just don't know,
If I'm ready to grow,
I have no one to give my love note,
I guess. I let go.
